SERMON VERSES: Mark 16:14-20
* We are more prone to lose faith, harden our hearts, and fall away
* Our society (including the LORD’s TRUE churches) is immature, weak, and emotional
* We must NEVER forget what Jesus has charged us (the Local Churches) to do
* Regardless of what happens, we must never lose our TRUST in Jesus, His power, and His purpose
The Commission
1. We are to GO out into the hi ways and hedges, compelling them to come to Christ (evangelization)
2. Baptize
3. Disciple!
The signs that accompanied the Apostles (until the Word of God was complete)
1. They were given the power to cast out devils
2. They were given the power to speak with non-native languages
3. They were protected from the attack of serpents or poisonous foods/drink
4. The healing of the sick
Current confirmations of a GENUINE local church and a GENUINE born-again BELIEVER
1. We follow and obey His unchanging word (they will see the love of Christ IN us!)
2. A changed life! (old things are past; all things become new)
3. A dedicated disciple that loves the brethren
Mark 16:14 Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. 15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Mark 16:19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. 20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
