DATE: Sunday PM, April 5, 2020
SERMON BY: Bro. Tim Russell
SERMON TITLE: Stability in Truth
SERMON THEME: God Knows His Children and His Children are Clean
SERMON SERIES: Keep the Faith
SERMON VERSES: 2Timothy 2:19-22; Numbers 16:5; Matthew 10:29

2Timothy 2:19-22 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. 20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. 21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.  22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

Numbers 16:5 And he spake unto Korah and unto all his company, saying, Even to morrow the LORD will shew who are his, and who is holy; and will cause him to come near unto him: even him whom he hath chosen will he cause to come near unto him.

Matthew 10:29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. 30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

• God knows His children! - He knows our fears and concerns,
   on a very intimate level
• God's children are clean - Born-again believers should flee from sin!
   - A clean Christian overcomes the past (don't look back!) - Romans
      2:11; Psalm 103:12
   - A clean Christian purges sin from our life - Confess and then forsake.
This is true repentance.  Practice DAILY personal cleansing!  Then He
will accept us as vessels unto honor!
   - Clean Christians are to sanctify themselves (keep themselves
      separated from sin).
   - We are then prepared for use!
