* is not always going to be popular (David’s men didn’t understand why he did not kill Saul in the cave)
* will not always produce immediate success (David had to continue hiding because Saul was untrustworthy)
* means we have to respond like Christ (David left vengeance in the hand of a God)
* not every open door is from God (Saul’s vulnerability was a test)
* Christianity is more than words (character must be a distinguishing Christian trait)
* guarantees eventual victory!
