Four effects (consequences) of one cause (promoting the Gospel)
* v3-ENDURING HARDNESS We should not faint when enduring difficulty and persecution. Christians are now in the battle; this life is the difficult part of our Christian experience.
* v4-AVOID DISTRACTIONS No soldier allows himself to become entangled in worldly affairs
* v5-FOLLOW THE RULES We must strive lawfully. We follow Jesus’ commands and precepts in our spiritual warfare. 1Corinthians 9:25-27
* v6-IF WE EXPECT THE PRIZE, WE HAVE TO DO THE WORK Proverbs 6:6-11
v7-10-THE CAUSE IS THE GOSPEL!
