Hi, folks. Thanks for visiting my blog!
Christmas has come and gone and in just a few days, 2006 will officially begin. Not that it has unofficially begun yet or anything like that. Well, you know what I mean, right?
On Sunday morning we had a great worship service! Choir special, orchestra music, great preaching. On Sunday night, a candle light service.
We are lucky to have Scott Kelsey and his family in the church. Scott is the new Outreach Minister and he is doing a great job. He is a swell guy and a lot of fun to be around...same goes for his wife and kids. Scott plays the trumpet, guitar (so he says), likes sports, and sleeps with a 12 foot Burmese Python. Ok....I admit it...I just made up that part about sports.
If you get to Ponca City, or are in Ponca and need a church home, why don't you stop by and visit Central Baptist. Meet Scott Kelsey...but don't judge the whole lot of us on your impression of him! haha
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Bedlam Game party
Thanks for visiting my CBC blog. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
Today was the OU vs. OSU bedlam football game. Several of the folks from the church came over to watch the game and to eat, eat, eat! The Gammils, Biddingers, Waterloos, Patricks, Ron and K.C.
OU whipped OSU pretty bad but it didn't diminish anybody's appetite that I could tell. We had a great time together as always.
Here's a picture of the guys...Sarah was nice enough to take this picture for us. The ladies were busy chatting at the table.
Have a great day!

The Patrick Family
Welcome to my Central Baptist Church blog. Thanks for visiting!
Today is Sunday the 19th of November. Thanksgiving is upon us. Brother Waterloo is in Indiana this weekend for the ordination of Keith Harris. In his absence, Lynn Schuyler offered a sermon this morning on being thankful. He did a fine job, as always. The choir sang a Thanksgiving special. Lots of visitors were in the services this morning...thank the Lord that he continues to bring people to our church. May we have the heart welcome them warmly!
Here is a picture of the Patrick Family (it's a couple of years old). Steve, Candy, Daniel and Timmy. This is a wonderful family! They're just plain loads of fun to be around. Candy sings in the choir and is in charge of the nursery ministry. Steve is a deacon, sings in the choir, goes on visitation, oversees the sound room/system, etc. The boys are well behaved and respectful. The boys often join their parents in singing special music during the services.
Click on the title are of this post to hear Steve's moving testimony.
Have a great day.

Bro. Fluharty
This is Brother Allen Fluharty. He is a great guy who greets me at the door every Sunday morning with a bulletin and a warm handshake.
You can always count on Brother Fluharty to be at the church whenever the doors are open. He is a greeter and serves as an usher. But more importantly, he is a faithful man of God!
I appreciate Brother Fluharty's faithfulness. He is an example to all the younger men in the church!

Picture of Bro. John
Here is a picture of pastor Waterloo. Now this is a super guy! And, don't let the picture fool you...he's really quite a good looking man in person! haha (sorry pastor). Did I mention that he's got a great sense of humor?
This week we have been having a revival...though I would rather not call it that. Our church is alive and vibrant with people serving the Lord! Amen! Who needs reviving!? I prefer to call it a spiritual pep rally!
Sam Davison from Southwest Baptist in Oklahoma City has been in Ponca since Sunday evening and preaching every night. This is the first time that I've heard him preach and he is very dynamic. Best of all, he preaches the unadulterated truth! Very, very good...but no better than our own pastor!
Have a nice day.
